Happy New Year!

2018 has been one hell of a year! That statement could go either way depending on the year you had LOL.

But I genuinely hope it was a great year for you… and if it wasn’t, trust me, I get it… but I hope you’re able to find the silver lining through all the craziness. Like I mentioned in a previous post, 2018 was a lesson in resilience for me. In that same post, I said I was going to start writing down everything I’ve accomplished this year; and I challenged you to do the same.

Well, earlier this month I took my journal, went to my favorite bar, ordered an Old Fashioned and started writing everything down. Three drinks later, I was shocked by how much we accomplished this year. I say “we” because without you… literally none of this would be possible.

So, I’m going to break down what I feel are the three most noteworthy things I wrote that night:

We had 8 shoots this year. That’s roughly a shoot every 6-weeks. From those 8 shoots, we filmed 83 workouts from 26 different trainers. We got to film at crazy awesome locations like The Orpheum Theatre and Batman’s Cave… and we stepped up production on all levels. On top of that, we released 73 workouts on Sweat Factor (formerly MDTV). Looking back… I now understand why I was so cash strapped this year LOL.

I was in a national ad for Metamucil… in Men’s Health… with pictures I took myself, using the self timer on my iPhone and a tripod! Everything about that statement is mind blowing to me. The fact that I was a “model”… the fact that I had a full page spread in Men’s Health… the fact that I took the damn photos from my friggin iPhone! None of it makes a lick on sense… but I am stupidly grateful for it.

We started the rebrand! We still have a ways to go (in my opinion)… but what’s important to me is that we got it started. I’ve never been one to wait for the “right time” to start something… but I noticed I was doing that with this project. And thankfully, because the app developer prematurely released the new version… it forced me to just dive in. With that being said, I have a whole new level of respect for companies that seemingly change their logos and branding overnight – the amount of work that has to go into coordinating something like that is absolutely mind boggling to me.

After writing it all out, it made me realize how special 2018 really was. With all its challenges, it was still an awesomely productive year – one that I could have never imagined 10 years ago. If you haven’t yet… I really hope you take 20-30 minutes and just start writing out your own list. It totally shifted my view of this year and put me in a place of extreme gratitude… and that’s always a good place to be in.

Thank you again for all the love, hustle, and support. Happy New Year… and I can’t wait to see you in 2019 πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸ’–
