do the work, put in the time…

haven’t written a “personal note” in a while because i’ve had crazy deadlines and have been stressed af. but just watched a @garyvee video that got me fired up, so i decided to write this because it’s been a bit overdue. (tap right in the IG post to watch his video btw… it’s 🔥)

a lot of people ask me when i take vacations or give myself a break. the answer is: I don’t. I think I’ve taken 3 vacations in the past 5 years: one was for a wedding, one was Vegas, and one was in NYC (where i scheduled 7 meetings in 2 business days).

If you watch my Instagram stories, you’ll often see on a Saturday night I’m sitting at my desk editing. Then maybe around 8 or 9-pm I’ll go see a movie… sometimes I don’t and just edit.

but i work like a crazy person. and am usually stressed AF as a result, but that’s the path I decided to take. And trust me, I complain *A LOT* lol… but it’s never about the work that’s required of me.

Just to give you a glimpse into my life: in a 6-week period between September and October I wrote about $25k in outgoing checks. It’s the most I’ve ever spent on a series of shoots but I know that it’ll pay off in the long run… we now have over a year’s worth of videos in post production to work with.

On top of the financial stress, I had to re-export almost 60-hours of content for a cable deal. I also turned around, three fully edited workout videos in 4-days, to a client. That’s on top of running all the other stuff i have to run. But I know it’s part of the deal for what i want to achieve.

I think it’s also why MDTV has grown over 300% within the last year. We’re consistent with putting out premium content… and no matter what’s going on in my life — I’ve never missed a deadline for adding a new workout every Sunday. Not one.

And that’s the biggest thing that gets under my skin: excuses. It may take more time, more energy, more money, and more stress… but there’s always a way around an obstacle. But when faced with that obstacle, so many people duck out because they don’t want to put in the work.

If you have big dreams. Do the f**king work. It’ll always pay off. Even if you don’t know it yet 👊🏼 [end rant]
